About us

Our Identity

The Kadewaguru Bakti Cendekia Foundation, widely recognized as the Kadewaguru Foundation, is an independent, non-profit organization based in Bali, Indonesia. The foundation is dedicated to advancing ethical education, culturally grounded research, and community empowerment by integrating local wisdom with global academic standards. Our institutional vision is guided by the name Kadewaguru. This concept holds dual meaning: it refers to a revered figure—a teacher who embodies wisdom, compassion, and moral clarity—and to a sacred learning space where knowledge is not merely acquired but cultivated as a transformative path for individual and collective growth. The name Bakti Cendekia further defines our institutional ethos. Bakti represents a profound sense of devotion and service, reflecting our commitment to educational initiatives rooted in ethical responsibility, social compassion, and cultural reverence. Cendekia, on the other hand, emphasizes intellectual clarity, academic excellence, and the pursuit of knowledge as a civic and cultural duty.
Kadewaguru Bakti Cendekia reflects a synthesis of values that transcend transactional education models, highlighting a philosophical and ethical commitment to learning as a sacred undertaking instead. Through this foundation, we uphold the belief that knowledge is not a commodity but a sacred force for ethical leadership, cultural resilience, and meaningful social transformation. We serve as a sanctuary for intellectual inquiry that honors indigenous knowledge systems while engaging critically with contemporary global discourses. As such, the Kadewaguru Foundation continues to foster a vision of intellectually rigorous and spiritually rooted education in service to the greater good.

THE KADEWAGURU FOUNDATION LOGO

The Kadewaguru Bakti Cendekia Foundation logo reflects the philosophical core of the institution’s mission —an educational vision deeply rooted in devotion (bhakti) and intellectual excellence (cendekia). Drawing inspiration from Lord Ganesha, the deity revered for wisdom and knowledge, and removing obstacles, the logo embodies a sacred commitment to fostering transformative education that harmonizes spiritual values and academic integrity.

Each visual element within the logo is deliberately crafted to represent the Foundation’s dedication to nurturing minds, cultivating ethical leadership, and bridging ancestral wisdom with contemporary scholarship. Lord Ganesha symbolizes enlightened learning and the courage to face complexity with discernment and compassion —qualities that align with the Foundation’s purpose of empowering communities through knowledge systems that are inclusive, contextual, and resilient.

By integrating the spiritual symbolism of Ganesha with the aspirational ideals of bhakti and cendekia, the logo becomes more than a visual identity—it stands as a declaration of our belief that education is a sacred force for personal awakening, social transformation, and global harmony. It signals our ongoing commitment to education that does not separate reason from reverence, intellect from integrity, or innovation from tradition.

Our Philosophical

Our work is grounded in the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, a holistic principle that emphasizes harmony in three dimensions of life:

  1. Parahyangan – nurturing spiritual purpose and ethical reflection in all aspects of education and leadership
  2. Pawongan – cultivating human dignity, inclusivity, and mutual respect in knowledge sharing
  3. Palemahan – protecting ecological balance and promoting sustainable living through values-based learning

We integrate Tri Hita Karana as a living methodology in our curriculum design, research approach, institutional culture, and community engagement.
